The lyric abstraction of Susie Gadea

The road towards the science of happiness
seems long and its indications are still fragile...
but something serious and verifiable seems to be emerging
to convincingly show us the need to overcome
the dichotomy between science and spirituality.

Susie Gadea is an artist of Peruvian origins with a will towards universality. We could say she is a being convinced that art is a means towards integration and healing of our society in crisis.

Her philosophy has points in common with the new currents of thought that advocate that humanity cannot continue with the mind-body dichotomy and that a profound reconciliation of theories and beliefs is needed. Although by the 1930’s abstraction questioned its own name it has endured in spite of its incongruities. In it, there is a discernable distinction between the lyric and the geometric.

Our painter develops one of her artistic facets in the first style, with certain subjacent figurative connotations. Her work is clear, clean and luminous. Her compositions, open or closed, have an evident spontaneity. She prefers soft colors in high key, resembling a seascape in broad sunlight.

It is a message of hope and optimism she wants to convey us, and in this world devoid of cooperation and autonomy, Susie Gadea’s work is an invitation to contemplation and reflection about the importance of tolerance and respect of all beliefs.

Synthesizing her pursuit, we can say she is a designer of hopes, whose brushstrokes and colors lead us towards what science knows as “positive emotionality” or the “philosophy of wellbeing”. Susie Gadea continues evolving, experimenting with different techniques and materials, elucubrating, investigating and imposing her will to create.
