Creating is receiving
The awakening process establishes contact with an unseen force, often perceived as a presence, which is the fountain of creativity and invention. The ‘message’ that flows from this source is usually received emotionally, devoid of language or form. As the artist allows this guidance, by stepping aside and overlooking his own self, he becomes a channel through which feeling pours. By accepting the privilege that this ‘pilot’ offers, he centers in depicting and expressing the sensations and impulses as he receives them. In this way the message is expressed and takes physical shape as a concrete artistic manifestation.
By assuming this commitment, each color seeks to be chosen according to its resonance, each brushstroke to translate and become the subtlety or exuberance of the message. This creative process is intuitive and emotional: there is no previous planning or outlining involved for it is unrelated to the limitations of reason and intellect.
Fear and rationality will get in the way, they should stay outside the door.
In a very simple way, based on the clarity and purity of each “contact”, the image creates itself, as a celebration of life and a reflection of the divine in each human being.
In the process of developing and fine-tuning his ability to receive, the artist is transformed. This is so because he cannot receive without consciously recognizing that the art that emerges through him will change him to the core.
When he accepts being here and there at the same time, relating to himself, to his environment and, at the same time to effervescence of the invisible world, the artist starts to perceive reality in ways until then unsuspected. Each one of us has limitless potential and the knowledge of All That Is. The willingness to explore this previously unknown dimension, sets off an encounter with unexplored aspects of our being, with our most intimate and true self.
This readiness, that in a single light-filled moment marks us for ever, is the inspiration for all future work, spurring a life-long commitment to creation. It brings increased inner peace and added sensitivity to all expressions of life, which, far from being meditative or passive, impels to action, strengthens the will and self-esteem. Being one with all humbles the arrogant self, dispels doubts and fosters a joyful pursuit of our inner voice.
Opening that door sets off an inner change: from fear and limitation to harmony and wholeness. We replace “you” with “we”, becoming aware that each manifestation of life is unique and that every person has relevance and value. We come to understand that the pain and happiness of each and every expression of life affects the whole, because we are all interconnected, essence of the same essence. This awareness becomes the seed of unprecedented compassion and respect for all creation.
The work of art not only represents the emotion perceived but it is that emotion made visible in the physical plane. It is a transmutation of non-matter into life, a materialization of emotion into form. Because emotion is a form of energy, it has an inherent, real and long-lasting power. That same energy, materialized as paint on canvas, resonates with an imperceptible echo capable of influencing and interacting with its surroundings. It has the power to nourish and to contribute what we needed to awaken our sensitivity and our potential, allowing us to truly be and live in harmony.
Emotion is a powerful form of energy that can be infused in the artwork.
The observer interprets art through his unique filter of ideas and emotions. In other words the possible meanings of any work of art depends on the number of persons that observe it.
When art is multidimensional, an additional factor takes precedence over thought or feeling: the energetic message. Much in the same way as an individual´s self is distinctive and unique to him, so is his energy. When a multidimensional art object and a compatible person meet -someone of similar vibrational frequency- their energies connect in such a way that the observer´s most sensitive fibers are touched.
At an energetic level, this connection resembles one or more luminous cords which flow from and towards the person´s energy vortex -known as chakras-.
In this way, a receptive, personalized connection takes place, one that is a different in each person and usually strong, meaningful and memorable.
At an emotional level, the response to such contact will also vary, its scope being dependent on the particular needs of the observer, for each observer responds from the uniqueness of his individuality and energy.
The artist, on the other hand, when creating trans-personal art must also assume a receptive role.
By focusing his attention inward, away from the act or process of creating, and towards his inner sensations and perceptions, he responds to the process, instead of controlling or directing it. In this way he allows a self-enriching flow of energy -intense, powerful and somehow even sensual-, that opens his sensory channels and allows him to tune in to more elevated, subtle and immensely pleasant vibrations.
The act of creating in this trans-personal terrain is not centered in the observation of the environment that surrounds the artist, nor in the ideas, concepts or opinions that make up his frame of reference, it has nothing to do with the sharpness of his perceptions, with the sensitivity of his emotions, or his capacity to imagine, visualize or dream.
In order to create in this way, the artist´s only valid asset is his willingness to allow, to release control without judging nor questioning, to let itself go freely and joyfully, to flow and to accept, to “know” without thinking and to “understand” without questioning. When creating in this way the separation between the creator and the object created disappears.
Once created, the multidimensional art object initiates an on-going relationship with its surroundings, its inherent energies interact, in a subtle barely perceptible way, with everything around -be it biological, geological or physical- producing a constant process of mutual influence and energy exchange.
This on-going adjustment of vibratory frequencies produces a unique homeostasis of all participants in the environment -live and inert components alike-. It is a give-and-take process which seeks to balance and optimize vibration at each point in time-space. Each part gives and absorbs, provides and retains, each contributes to reinforce the other while being recharged with the energy contribution it is capable of receiving.
It is an exchange mechanism, a system of multiple counter-influences by which the art object created, the observer and their environment share the essence that makes them unique in order to contribute to the expansion of the collective consciousness.
