Biography
Susie Gadea was born in 1953, in Lima, Peru, in a bicultural family that encouraged her artistic inclinations and sense of global citizenship.
In 1969 she moved to Hobart, Australia where she completed her Matriculation studies. A year later she went north to sunny Queensland where she studied graphic design at the Brisbane School of Art.
A decade later, she settled in the Dominican Republic where she worked as an independent design and communications consultant heading her own successful studio. In 1999 she obtained a degree in psychology, discipline which furthered her understanding of herself and others. Her inclination towards transpersonal psychology complemented her philosophical and metaphysical interests, an on-going influence in her understanding of reality.
The year 2000 marked the beginning of an intense period of inner search and adjustment of her goals which lead her to embrace the challenge of artistic self-expression, her live-long passion. Shortly after her first solo exhibit in Santo Domingo in 2001, she closed her studio to devote herself in body and soul to her art.
Seeking to expand her creative horizons she moved to Madrid in 2005 and since then she has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. Her work is part of private collections in over a dozen countries in three continents. Her motivation is connecting with the viewer's most sensitive fibers and reminding of the spontaneous, joyful and eternal essence that lives within all of us.
